Seasonal Tax Preparer

Ryan has worked with Swanson Hinsch & Co. CPAs on a seasonal basis since 2011 after owning his own individual tax practice for many years.  He joined our firm to maintain and grow his taxation knowledge, as well as work in a team environment, getting multiple perspectives on different client situations.  As a Certified Public Accountant and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, Ryan brings extensive knowledge of financial planning, as well as trust income and retirement plan taxation to the Swanson Hinsch team.


Ryan has been a contributor to The Wall Street Journal; recent articles include “Money Strategies for Mr. Mom” and “Which Way to Retirement?”, along with several other industry publications and media outlets.  He also appears as a frequent guest on the regional Minnesota financial planning radio program “Your Money.”  Ryan is a member of the Ed Slott Master Elite IRA program. 


Out of the office, Ryan has taught as an adjunct professor of financial planning at Minnesota State University Mankato, plays drums, and has participated in the YMCA Brother/Sister program.  Ryan and his wife Jill live in Mankato with their two dogs Henry and Daisy.  Ryan likes to bring them by the office as a stress reliever for the tax preparers every now and then….
